Creatine supplementions effect on sleep and brain health
There have been a limited number of studies investigating the effects of creatine supplementation on brain function and sleep, and even fewer studies specifically examining the timing of creatine supplementation with respect to these outcomes. One study published in 2018 investigated the effects of creatine supplementation on sleep quality in healthy young men. Participants received either a placebo or creatine supplements (20 grams per day) for 7 days, and were instructed to take the supplements either in the morning or in the evening. The study found that creatine supplementation did not significantly affect sleep quality, and there were no differences in sleep quality between the morning and evening supplement groups.
